Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has begun implementing its decision to increase the Saudisation rate to 70% across 12 procurement-related professions, effective 31 May 2026.
The requirement applies to private sector establishments employing three or more workers in the targeted roles, as defined under the approved occupational classifications. The affected positions span procurement, logistics, and supply chain functions, including procurement managers, procurement representatives, contracts managers, warehouse staff, and various specialist roles.
Inspection teams have commenced monitoring compliance across relevant establishments to ensure adherence to the prescribed localisation thresholds. The Ministry has confirmed that penalties will be imposed on companies that fail to meet the requirements following the applicable grace period.
