Newfoundland and Labrador: Reform to sick notes and notice of reservist leave

  • With effect from 4 December 2024, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador removed the requirement for employees to provide employers with a sick note from a medical or nurse practitioner after three consecutive days of sick leave.
  • Also with effect from 4 December 2024, the government reduced the amount of notice that an employee who intends to take reservist leave must provide to an employer from 60 days to 30 days.
