Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has introduced a flexible working hours initiative across six major business districts in Riyadh, effective from 2 June 2026.
The initiative applies to more than 50 entities operating within key commercial zones, including King Abdullah Financial District, Digital City, the Diplomatic Quarter, Listen Valley, Granada Business, and Roshn Front. Under the new approach, working hours have been expanded to a four-hour flexible window, enabling employees to stagger arrival and departure times.
The measure is intended to reduce traffic congestion during peak commuting hours, improve overall commuting efficiency, and enhance employee wellbeing and quality of life. It also supports Riyadh’s broader urban sustainability objectives and reflects ongoing efforts to modernise the city’s infrastructure and regulatory environment.
