Law no. 32/2025, published on 27 March, amends the Labour Code to allow workers suffering from severe and disabling pain due to endometriosis or adenomyosis during their menstrual period to take justified absences from work. These absences, up to three consecutive days per month, do not result in any loss of rights, including pay.

The employee must provide the employer with a medical prescription certifying endometriosis or adenomyosis with incapacitating pain. This prescription serves as proof and does not require monthly renewal.

This amendment comes into force on 26 April 2025.
