New changes to the internship law

At a glance

  • Effective 11 December 2025, companies may retain up to 10% of their total headcount as interns (previously limited to 5%).
  • Interns gain the right to paid days off, proportional to the internship duration. There is no statutory minimum, and unused days are not compensated.
  • Companies hiring interns must now submit only a copy of the internship certificate to claim the state benefit, replacing previous documentation requirements.
