- The Minister for Children, Disability and Equality (Minister) announced a new gender pay gap reporting portal for the companies reporting on their gender pay gap later this year.
- Companies with 50+ employees are in scope this year.
On 8 March 2025, the Minister announced a new online portal for companies who will be reporting on their gender pay gap this year. All companies who fall within the scope of the reporting obligations will be required to upload their reports to the online portal, which will create a centralised database of gender pay gap reports which will be accessible by the public.
This year the threshold for reporting was lowered again, meaning companies with 50 or more employees are now in scope. The Minister estimated that the new threshold will result in a total of 6,000 organisations being in scope.
The portal will be launched in Autumn this year, ahead of the reporting deadline. In-scope companies must choose a 'snapshot date' in June 2025 to use for their data and publish the corresponding report in November 2025 (which is one month earlier than the usual December reporting deadline).
Companies are required to report on:
- The differences, as a percentage, between the mean and the median hourly remuneration of male and female employees, part-time employees and employees on temporary contracts.
- The differences, as a percentage, between the mean and the median bonus remuneration of male employees and female employees.
- The percentage of all male and female employees who were paid bonus remuneration.
- The percentage of all male and female employees who received benefits in kind.
- The percentages of all relevant male and female employees who fall within each remuneration quartile pay band.
