- The Swedish Parliament has approved new rules on parental leave.
- For example, the number of double days (ie days where both parents can take parental leave with parental allowance) has doubled from 30 to 60 days and can be taken during the child's first 15 months.
- In addition, a possibility for a parent to transfer part of the general parental allowance to someone other than a parent will be introduced.
- The amendment is proposed to enter into force on 1 July 2024.
