Female employees are not required to disclose whether they are undergoing or planning to undergo medical conception treatment. Additionally, it is illegal to deny employment, terminate a contract during a probationary period, or reassign an employee to a different role based on their involvement in such treatment.
In June 2025, Parliament formally passed a new bill that bans making decisions related to pay, training, promotions, and similar matters based on medical conception. This protection applies equally to both male and female employees. It also extends to employees of any gender who are in the process of adopting a child. Previously, the law only applied after the adoption was finalised. Individuals covered by this law are also entitled to take time off for any necessary medical or administrative appointments.
