At a glance
- The Swedish Government has presented a proposal for new rules regarding the deduction, corresponding to 20% of the sick pay for an average week, which is made on an employee's sick pay.
- One of the proposals, is that if an employee during the last 12 months has been affected by a deduction on six occasions, deductions for additional periods of sick pay shall not be made, in other words, the proposal means that the ‘ceiling’ is set at six occasions instead of ten occasions, as is currently the case.
- There are also proposals for changes to the rules for the special high-risk protection.
- The amendments are proposed to enter into force on 1 January 2025.
