• It permits employers in Shanghai to voluntarily enrol their employees who are beyond the statutory retirement age, as well as interns, in work-related injury insurance on a monthly basis.
• The contribution is based on the employee’s monthly salary.
• Similar local regulations have been introduced in other provinces and cities, including Zhejiang, Chongqing, Hainan, Sichuan, and Beijing.
• However, the limits on the scope of employees eligible for work-related injury insurance varies from one location to another.
