  • As of 1 February 2024, an executive order introducing new regulations on systematic work came into effect. These new regulations consolidate the rules on formal health and safety requirements, including those on workplace assessment and health and safety organisation, into a single executive order.
  • The new regulations on systematic health and safety work have restructured the workplace assessment process into four phases, as opposed to the previous five. The initial two phases, ‘identification and mapping’ and ‘description and assessment’ of the working environment, have been merged into a single phase known as ‘risk assessment’.
  • Further, the regulations specify that the workplace assessment is a process that must be initiated whenever there are changes to the work, working methods, or work processes.
  • The roles within the health and safety organisation, including the tasks that the health and safety representative is responsible for, have also been clarified under these new regulations.
