The UAE has announced that professionals eligible for the 'Golden Visa' must now have a basic monthly salary of DH30,000, excluding allowances, to apply for the long-term residency. This is a change from the previous requirement of a minimum gross salary of DH30,000 per month, including allowances.

The change essentially raises the bar for eligible professionals who previously met the DH30,000 threshold through their total compensation package, including allowances. Apart from the DH30,000 basic salary, applicants must meet other requirements like a valid employment contract, labour permit, professional level classification, relevant educational qualifications, practice permit for certain roles, and comprehensive health insurance.
