2024 Wage Settlement update: agreement reached in the front runner sector

At a glance

  • On 7 April 2024, The Federation of Norwegian Industries (Norsk Industri) and The United Federation of Trade Unions in private sector in Norway (Fellesforbundet) agreed on a wage settlement.
  • Norwegian industrial workers will receive a general wage increase of 5.2% (which is the same as in 2023).
  • This agreement sets the scene for wage increases across Norway, however, the remaining national unions are still negotiating with their respective counterparts.
  • There are still risks of strikes in certain sectors, which will depend on the priorities of the union in each sector.
