The age limit for the right to remain in employment is regulated within the Employment Protection Act ("EPA"). In response to an aging population, the threshold has been raised gradually in recent years, and as of 1 January 2023 it was raised from 68 to 69 years. The rule means that an employee is entitled to remain in employment until the end of the month in which he or she turns 69. The rule is enforced for the benefit of the employee cannot be contracted out of in any manner less advantageous for the employees.
