Yesterday, 12 October, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, signed the commencement order for the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022 (the Act). The order sets 1 January 2023 as the date upon which the Act will commence in its entirety. The Minister commented that notice is being given to employers to provide them with time to make the necessary arrangements to be complaint with the Act. The additional time is to also give the Protected Disclosures Commissioner sufficient time to get ready to be in a position to fulfil his obligations under the Act.
