As of 1 June 2023, the minimum wage in British Columbia increased from CAD 15.65 to CAD 16.75 an hour. The 7% increase reflects the British Columbia government’s commitment to tie minimum wage increases to the average annual inflation rate.
Minimum wage applies regardless of how employees are paid – hourly, salary, commission or on an incentive basis. With the increase, British Columbia now provides for the second highest minimum wage rate in Canada, trailing only the Yukon.
