The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment launched a new EPOS on 28 April 2025.
All users (ie employers, agencies and employees) are required to set up a portal account to access the EPOS and submit employment permit applications. EPOS accounts require multi-factor authentication and provide a record of applications and a status update feature, making it easier to obtain up to date information on the status of applications.
Additionally, the Trusted Partner initiative is no longer in operation under the EPOS and all employers will operate from EPOS accounts.
The introduction of the EPOS aims to allow a more efficient processing of employment permit applications for all users. Support tools are available to assist users on how the EPOS operates.
Employers are advised to set up an EPOS account and familiarise themselves with the EPOS to avoid delays in submitting applications. If you require further advice or information on the EPOS or global mobility queries more generally, please contact a member of the DLA Piper Ireland Employment Team.
