The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced the implementation of a digital service for issuing and attesting sick leave and medical reports for UAE residents. This initiative aims to reduce paperwork, cut waiting times, and improve customer satisfaction through smart platforms, allowing residents to attest medical leave online using UAE Pass for a fee of AED50.
Sick leave of five days or less will be attested instantly, whereas leave of a period of five days to one month will require electronic attestation and approval by the medical sub-committee in the respective emirate. Leave exceeding one month must be approved by the Higher Medical Committee of The Ministry of Health and Prevention after review. Residents must submit requests within one month from the date of issue and ensure that sick leave from private facilities is licensed.
