  • October 1 is now a mandatory public holiday in Mexico.
  • This takes place every six years, on the day of the President's inauguration.

On September 30, 2024, the Federal Labor Law was amended to introduce a new public holiday. Previously, a public holiday occurred every six years on December 1 to mark the transfer of the Federal Executive Power. Due to constitutional reform, amendments were made to the Federal Labor Law, and this holiday will now be observed on October 1 every six years.
