The Labour Fund 'Tamkeen' has announced a comprehensive crackdown on violations. Since the beginning of 2024, Tamkeen has conducted over 2,450 inspection visits, uncovering a staggering 237 violations.

Tamkeen has implemented a multi-pronged approach to strengthen oversight procedures, bolstering the programme's efficiency and curbing potential misuse through illegal employment practices. This proactive approach highlights Tamkeen's commitment to safeguarding the program's effectiveness and promoting fair employment practices. The fund has emphasised a multi-faceted strategy.

Firstly, it aims to strengthen existing legal frameworks governing oversight and monitoring procedures. Secondly, it seeks to refine collaborative mechanisms with relevant authorities to ensure prompt action on identified cases of abuse. Thirdly, Tamkeen has granted a number of its employees the authority of judicial officers to enable more effective enforcement.

Additionally, Tamkeen has launched a new comprehensive plan to double inspection efforts. The plan also entails increased coordination with the Ministry of Labour and other relevant entities to promptly address violations and suspicious activities. Moreover, a dedicated hotline has been established for individuals to report any suspected abuses.
