Salary indexation for 2023 in the general industry sector for white-collar employees (joint committee no.200 ("JC 200"))

18 January 2023 1 min read

The indexation rate has been confirmed for 2023 at 11.08%. Salary indexation ensures that wages are automatically adjusted on the 1st of January every year based on the cost of living.

What does this mean?

From 1 January 2023, an employee’s fixed salary must be increased by 11.08%. The increase only concerns employees’ fixed remuneration and not the variable components such as bonuses and commissions.

The timing, rate and scope of the indexation, however, varies per sector, so please check your sectorial terms if you are part of a different sector.
