- The statutory minimum wage (SMW) rate has increased from HKD40 to HKD42.10 per hour, effective from 1 May 2025.
- The monthly cap for employers to record employees' total hours worked has also increased from HKD16,300 to HKD17,200, effective from the same date.
The Chief Executive in Council has adopted the recommendation of the Minimum Wage Commission on revising the SMW rate from HKD40 per hour to HKD42.10 per hour. The revised SMW rate came into force on 1 May 2025.
The monthly monetary cap for employers to record the total hours worked by employees during a wage period has also increased from HKD16,300 to HKD17,200 per month, also effective from 1 May 2025.
