Key requirements
Logistics sector
- Mandatory professional practice licenses for drivers of refrigerated trucks, water tankers, trailers, and waste transport vehicles.
- Compulsory certification for food delivery staff and supervisors.
- Electronic license applications through the Sectoral Skills Unit platform.
Accounting and finance
- Professional classification certificates required for 19 positions.
- Certification process managed by Sector Skills Unit with Omani Association of Certified Public Accountants.
- Covers roles including assistant auditors and financial assistants.
Oil and gas sector
- Professional practice licenses required from Energy and Minerals Sector Skills Unit.
- Certification mandatory for both new and renewal work permits.
Document falsification
The ministry has warned against document falsification, stating that:
- Only ministry-approved training institutes and assessment centres are authorised to evaluate and license professions.
- Legal action will be taken against those submitting forged certificates.
- All non-ministry approved certifications will be considered invalid.
