New employment tribunal rates and limits in force from 6 April 2025

The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2025 will revise compensation limits for certain tribunal awards and other statutory payments from 6 April 2025.

The limit on a week's pay will increase from GBP700 to GBP719. This means that the maximum basic award for unfair dismissal and the maximum statutory redundancy payment will both rise from GBP21,000 to GBP21,570. 

The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will rise from GBP115,115 to GBP118,223. 

The minimum basic award for certain unfair dismissals (including health and safety dismissals) increases from GBP8,533 to GBP8,763. 

The new rates will apply from 6 April 2025 to 5 April 2026.
