Tailored for in-house lawyers, this international event offers a dynamic, panel led discussion centred around a compelling case study.

Cross-border (and cross practice group) in nature the event will include DLA Piper colleagues from Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, the UK, the US and others.

This half-day event will include discussions about some of the key issues that arise as part of reorganisation projects, drawing on direct expert experience. Attendees are encouraged to share their own insights into what works — and what doesn’t - in practice.

Our case study will cover the life cycle of a reorganisation project involving the spin out of a business division and expansion into a new market including cross border employee transfers, employee participation in special negotiating bodies and headcount reduction. We will consider:

  • The new legal framework for cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions
  • Initial assessment and planning with a focus on key milestones
  • Important employee-related considerations
  • Other critical considerations including transfer pricing, immigration and compliance with statutory procedures under the EU Directives

As well as working through a case study, you will have the opportunity to speak to country and subject matter experts as well as exchange experiences and best practice with peers.

Typically, the legal teams working on these matters rely on employment, corporate and tax expertise and our speaker panel will reflect that.

We will use the event as an opportunity to unpack the legal, logistical and practical challenges that arise in complex cross‑border reorganisations, equipping you with the skills you need to navigate cross-border reorganisations with confidence.

Attendees will be eligible to receive CPD points.
